He was good friends with John Lennon. Lennon was best man at Boyle's wedding.

He was the only member of the cast from "Everybody Loves Raymond" who din't win an Emmy for his performance in that series. And about the only one who deserved one.

My dad always called him Joe Boyle, I think probably because of the movie "Joe" which had him portraying a character which was almost the exact opposite of himself.
