I'm afraid I see this as another "forward this e-mail to everyone you know" type of "virus" (self-inflicted, in a sense). I find this opening statement "Last year on April 30, 1999, a gas out was staged across Canada and the U.S. to bring the price of gas down, AND IT WORKED" (emphasis added) highly questionable--I don't remember hearing anything about it working at the time. As mentioned above, the gas gets sold regardless. Although a statement might get made, it's quite doubtful that it would have any real effect on prices. It's not like the consumers will go elsewhere to spend their money if the oil industry doesn't bow to their desires. I think the main result will be that some folks will feel good, having deluded themselves into believing that they made a contribution to bettering the world.
