As for the UK USA divide, or any other for that matter, don't forget that the best (mutually agreed) american sitcoms do well on bothh sides of the atlantic, as is the case with stand ups and films etc.

I've found that, what I see to be good humour, translates pretty well all over the world. And I've been to a few places hither and thither in my time.
