Thread Name: Obit: Tommy McManamon (15 Dec 06)
Subject: RE: Obit: Tommy McManamon
To whom it may concern,
Me olde mate Tom.
Irelands mandolin answer to Pat Metheny.

Those heady days at the Favourite in the 1970's where a young Tom Macmanamon was the pub governor along with his sister Maria formed a musical relationship between Tom and myself that had in 2004 lead Tom prepare to record an album with mw on drums and Victor Wooten on bass in basically an ECM vain. He also wanted banjo player Bella Fleck to join him.
We spemt some time listening to John Abercrombie playing a minutare Fender Strat Mandolin with Jack DeJohnette and Dave Holland. Its too bad Tom never made this album. I have some pictures of us in 2004 with this regard.
