I did find a mint copy of an early C. Fox Smith book there, LANCASHIRE HUNTING TALES AND OTHER MOORLAND LAYS (1909), that I didn't have. Unfortunately, few of the shops had computerized their inventories and one had to go through every shelf, which would have taken years to accomplish, to complete the search, and by that time inventories would be refilling in the previous shops...

The Town is, indeed, a bookbuyers dream/nightmare and someone should compose an appropriate song.
