Would it be possible for the chat room application to be kept open in a separate window?

That is, at the moment if you go into it and then leave, the application closes and you are no longer in the room. I would like to go into the chat room and stay there while I read threads, use the database, etc. Then there will be more chance someone will join me, and I can keep my eye on the window for when that happens. (I use "me" somewhat metaphorically, since there are not many people around when I would go in; but I think it would work for those in better timezones.)
