UK friends of mine are visiting Oz this week for the cricket and I feel sorry for them. I'd be embarrassed to be Pom in Oz whilst the Ashes are still on. With two more test matches in which to get totally humiliated, I'm surprised the barmy army haven't come home for Christmas! Actually, they may not be able to get home as Heathrow has been closed for the last few days due to freezing fog! Still, after 50-odd UK Christmasses behind me, it just wouldn't seem the same to me if it wasn't freezing cold outside whilst we sit in a warm house tucking into turkey and all the trimmings.....
