My grandmother always maintained that when it thunders the weather will become more extreme in its season, i.e., if it thunders in the wintertime it is going to get COLD and in summer it's going to be HOT.
She also said 'A sunshiny shower won't last half an hour' and lots of things like that. When I was 7 or 8 years old and came into the room whistling she hurt my feelings by remarking 'Whistling girls and crowing hens always come to some bad end'.
It was not until years later that I remembered that she whistled all the time.
In Juneau our snow has turned to rain. Most of the snow is gone and the landscape is white and grey. Looks cold but the thermometer says it is in the upper 30s.
