My Santa has been silent since the 15th of December
When he promised me a token in the mail,
To be followed by a present. Maybe he did not remember
My address. Each day the postman, without fail,
Delivers bills, delivers junk mail and the supermarket flyers,
Even jury duty notices! But still
I wait to see a word from Santa or the little elves he hires
And I wonder if I really ever will.
