Thread Name: BS: So what do you love? Really love?
Subject: RE: BS: So what do you love? Really love?
Since the title of this thread asks "...what do you love?", instead of "...whom do you love", I'm going to ignore the human beings whom I love and stick with the non-human.

I don't love any physical objects, but I do love the experiences some objects help me enjoy. I love playing music and creating ceramic art, but I don't love my guitars or my potter's wheel. They're just tools to help me have creative experiences. It's the process that I love, not the tools nor even the completed project. I've created and sold thousands of pots, but I've yet to create a single piece that I've felt compelled to keep for my own.

The one thing that could be considered a physical object that I will admit to loving is "my" land. I put "my" in quotes because while I have a deed that says I own it, I think of it as stewardship. As Dougie MacLean says, "You cannot own the land. The land, it owns you." It's actually more akin to a marriage than an owner/object relationship.
