Prairie Home Companion was broadcast on PBS TV, tonight. A three hour New Year's Eve show in Nashville at the Ryman Theatre. It was mostly a great show with Jerry Douglas, Linda and Robin Williams, the Old Crow Medicine Show and others. By and large we really enjoyed it.

We are wondering, though, if anyone else watched and noticed how uncomfortable and off-key Emmy Lou Harris seemed to be? She didn't know the lyrics, seemed so unsure for a couple of songs, and just looked lost. We felt badly for her as it seemed evident she knew something was not going well. Anyone heard if she's having any problems or if the sound system was messing her up or something? A couple of times it was just awful and I muted the sound. We were really surprised and puzzled as we've always really loved her performances.
