I use parsnips as soup greens to make Chicken soup. Once the soup is completely cooked the parsnips are thrown out in the trash along with the other soup greens (celery, parsley roots, & dill), before the soup is served. And since I am kosher, parsnips that have come in contact with chicken can not be eaten with butter or any other dairy product.
