I've been having a similar problem too.

Only that things to help most people sleep do the opposite for me.- Long story, but guarantee listeners won't have trouble sleeping if I explain.

Many a time have I been doing physical exercise for the best part of the day (morris dancing, single parent 2 kids, line dancing, taking dog for walks, bike riding), I also don't have too many sugary things and caffeine is a rare thing in my system. Stil I lie in bed, leg or foot twitching, thoughts going from everywhere to eternity and then all over again.

I have to read something very boring and repetitive or doing a logic problem/crossword. I then practically pass out with exhaustion around 3/4am.

Yet, if I have been at college all day, done 3 hours of intense home study, sorted meals for kids, plus done above said exercises, I tend to get off to sleep alot earlier.

If all else fails, a bottle of gin sorts me out.

Feel rough the next day though.
