I booked him a couple of time for gigs with The Popes in Hampshire. On one occasion he disposed of a large bottle of Irish whiskey single-handedly while on stage (having already demolished several pints of Guinness beforehand), on another occasion he rolled out of the tour van on arrival and fell fast asleep on the ground. When awake he was a lovely man, a real character and a mighty fine musician. He will be sadly missed.
