Here in midcoast Maine, crocus leaves have emerged and my miniature daffodil tips are beginning to show. Red elder buds are swelling. The bantams are delirious with joy at having access to our veggie garden from which I harvested carrots, parsley, and 2 kinds of kale this afternoon. Turkeys wander without snow to cover their mast, and the finches, chickadees, and cardinals are trying out their spring songs.
