These hybrid motors are more damaging to the planet than small diesel engined cars. It costs more to maintain them, it costs more to get rid of them at the end of their life [huge battery, huge cost to dispose of environmentally] and 60 mpg with diesel is not obtainable with a hybrid.... and hybrids still kick out fumes when running in engine mode..
All things taken into consideration the hybrid is NOT the planet saving vehicle many are purchasing them for.......
