Last April I planted fan palm seeds that I collected in San Fransisco. I kept them at 90 degrees F and monitored the soil moisture for 3 months. Nothing Happened! I put the plantings outside exposing them to torrential rains and brutal heat all summer long. At the end of September they all popped up. I live in Maine with my palm trees. It was 65 degrees F this past Saturday. The palm trees are alive and well and waiting for global warming to get into full swing before I plant them outside.
