My Landrover is now mothballed and only used for towing and occasional stump-pulling. Regular car is a Renault Clio diesel. Averages 65 mpg week in week out, very low particulate emissions due to modern diesel technology. I looked at a Prius, but when you do the maths, the environmental impact is just too high overall. The idea that the US oil industry won't manufacture low sulphur diesel is a joke. It could be done tomorrow, with minimal fuss; it's just that the oil companies would sell less fuel overall if this happened, and they won't do that unless forced to by Government (as they were in the UK and most of Europe). The solution here is political; find a candidate who will push for this, and vote for them!
