Thanks Jeff. There are often errors in the press and it is very easy to accept what they tell us. I appreciate your note.

Strollin Johnny' - as I said, I do agree with you that it is a lifelong disease and no one is every truly "cured" - but it is a disease that people CAN live with provided they get the right help and that they want to help themselves. It is an extremely difficult disease to battle, but it can. I feel that the true heroes are the people who overcome their dependance and live productive lifes.   Therefore, I find it repulsive when I hear people simply write things off as "it is just the disease". Tell that to the person whose lives have been forever ruined by a drunk driver. Help is available and people can overcome it. The disease cannot be treated as an excuse for behavior.

In this country we can point to outstanding sports figures such as Joe Namath, Dwight Gooden and Darryl Strawberry. Promise unfullfilled because they weren't strong enough to fight the demons and disease. I find it heard to pity them.   While their fame and fortune exposed them to more temptation than the rest of us, the same fame and fortune could have bought them help that they needed.
