Look guys, if you are having problems with ill-trained percussionists, why not organise a workshop on the "Rhythms of Folk". Get your egg shakers and Spoon rattlers and Bodhran players along and charge 'em a fiver to learn how to play in time.
If they can do it, charge 'em another fiver for a certificate of competence which will allow them to take part in sessions.
If they can't, sign 'em up for more classes.
It's not a problem, it's an opportunity!
Stop being so negative. There are too many miserable people in Folk clubs.
That's exactly why I stopped going!
