I dunno of any other music gatherings specifically referred to as "getaways" except THE getaway (the FSGW Getaway) and except that it is a US slang term for any getaway..... in crime, a getaway driver picks up the crooks in the getaway car, so they can make a fast getaway, and yuppies like to have the occasional Virgin Islands getaway.... see the drift?

THE Getaway is (also) (sort of) a sort of a Mudcat Gathering, MudGather, etc., held within the larger context of the annual FSGW event.
