Mary, I was a bit confused when I last posted here. On reading your subsequent posts and rereading your first post, I realize now that the customer service manager who rudely lit up in the next cubicle last Saturday is a female, but is not your manager, and that your manager is male. Right?

Wonder if your manager and the CS manager have more than a business relationship...?

I hope you will indeed "take this further" and complain to the higher-ups about the two managers' behavior and about the male manager's baseless suggestion that you leave. Be fearless!
