Dear Don Meixner, I have used a bouzouki to accompany a song called" I loved a lass " or "I loved a lad " when Jacquie & Bridie sang it.
It"s the one that goes :-
I loved a lass,and I loved her so well,
   I hated all others who spoke of her ill,
   But now she"s rewarded me well for my love-
She has gone to be wed to another.
The tune really lends itself to bouzouki modal tuning.
