From looking at the list of past nominees, English music has featured in the World Music Awards from the start. In 2002 the Afrocelts (who are at least half English) won the (then) Listeners Award, other nominees that year included the Boat Band and Kathryn Tickell.

At that time listeners were actually allowed to nominate, now the high heid yins of WOMEX provide the lists for the public vote most years seem to include at least some English folk (eg E & M Carthy, Andrew Cronshaw).

However with the exception of Cara Dillon there are no Irish artists and not a single Scot that I can see.
