Three yeasr ago, if asked this question, I would have chosen Italy. I spent some wonderful times there and just felt, of all the countries that I had visited, that that was the one that would suit me best.

Then I moved somewhere. Maine. Similar to the UK but more so. There are differences but they make for interest and it certainly isn't heavy or bad tempered here in the most north easterly of the states. Beside which, there's Maine lobster and Maine shrimp, two very good reasons for living here. Right now the temperature is at about 20F, warmer than yesterday when it didn't get much above zero, but it's a dry cold and so more bearable.

Now, if I could get rid of the mosquitoes in the summer..........
