Mary Cliff grew up in Arlington and has been active in the Washington-area music community since high school. She is known and appreciated for her long-running Saturday night folk music program Traditions. Both personally and professionally, Mary has been a steadfast cheerleader for the Washington area's music scene and its artists, especially those of the folk community.

So that's that for WETA.

The WAMU fund raising drive is Feb 3-10. Online forms for "membership" and "donate any amount" have a "comments" box. Why not use that box to tell WAMU "start airing "Traditions." Don't raise other issues - that confuses them. Don't tell them you like some of their other shows -- that encourages complacency.

We've all had issues with WAMU in the past. The people who ran the station then are gone. Here is a chance for the new management to prove they care about our community's culture.
