David Crosby, Jim Croce, Judy Collins, etc. are not country in the U.S. Folk or folk-rock, yes. Classic country stations (1950's-1980's) will occasionally play John Denver or Gordon Lightfoot, but that's an exception rather than a rule. Obviously, these are all great performers, but in a different genre.
