Metchosin,

I felt that registering for a free Yahoo ID was worth it. In my opinion, Flickr is an awesome photo host. I use a number of other ones. I like Flickr very much.

For the purposes of Flickr, Yahoo is just an email account that you may, or may not, ever wish to check for mail. There is a mail feature on Flickr. Any messages you get via Flickr will also appear in your Yahoo inbox.

There is a simple registration form on which you will be asked to fill in certain fields and may also fill in others, which are optional.

They will ask for a birthdate which must show that you are over 13, if you want to use the service at all, and over 18 if you should ever wish to use the public chats on Yahoo. My online policy is to lie about my birthdate (none of their business, I'm an adult, that's all they need to know,) and to fill in only the minimum information on any registration form.

When submitting the registration, there may be check boxes for offers of email spam. I watch for those and make sure that I am not giving permission for them to add to unwanted email.
