I like to know how things work, but I don't want to have to know.

I can drive a car without knowing how the carburettor, engine, etc., work. If I want to know I can find out. But not knowing doesn't stop me driving the car.

With Windows, occasionally a problem occurs that means I suddenly find I need to know how to edit the feckin' registry in such a way as to not lose all my data from the system. That's what I hate about Windows.

I regard ny PC as a tool to do things I want - no more, no less. I don't want to have to learn how the feckin' thing works internally.

And I work in IT - I wonder how yer average Joe Public person copes with some of the problems that Windows throws up?
