This old Marlene Dietrich song, from the movie, The Blue Angel, isn't a folksong, at least by my definition, but I have been working up an instrumental version, and I am a little bit befuddled--I don't have any sheet music, so I am working from memory, and have some questions about the time signature--It seems to be in 3/4, but the chord changes tend to come on the second beat--it reminds me of some of those old German Dances that have a measure of 2/4 stuck in among the 3/4 measures--
For melodic reasons, I am in G (tho it tends to me in A)--
I have A)||:G-G-G/G-C-C/C-G-G/G-G-G/G-D7-D7/D7-D7-D7/D7-G-G/G-G-G:||

Repeat A
Is this right? and if it is, what is the deal? Is it some weird thing that happens in German Cabaret songs. or is it some dance beat or something?
