I use shallow containers of beer throughout the summer to get the slugs and snails. Works like a charm!

Sorry to have misplaced you, Zany! A friend of mine was in the UK 25 years ago to care for her grandchildren because her daughter moved them there to do her PhD. She bemoaned the lack of good produce. In letters I tucked in seeds for her garden (I remember onions as something she really missed).
