Grainger first visited Brigg in 1905, in April for the North Lincolnshire Musical Competition and again in September. He returned the next year, first, I think, for the Competition in May and then in July with an Edison Bell phonograph. I have read this had been bought by the Folk Song Society and was promptly 'borrowed' by Grainger from Lucy Broadwood.
