Thanks all,
As some of you know I am in plaster at the moment with a ruptured achilles and am positively useless 300 miles from Mum & Dad!
She made it through the night, but her heart is refusing to settle down, It seems that she actually had the heart attack on Sunday night, but, as it was her birthday and her blind sister had come to stay, she didn't want to spoil the evening and ignored the fact that her heart was going mad, and the terrible gnawing pain in her throat and neck. The next day after she had been with dad to take her sister home, she tried to make an appointment to see her doctor but couldn't get one - she failed to tell the surgery that she had chest pain! Dad finally dragged her kicking & screaming to the surgery at 8am yesterday morning. After an ECG, The doctor told her she had had a heart attack and needed to go straight to hospital. Mum said well. I'll pop home and get my bits together, at this point the Doctor told her in no uncertain terms that she had to got to hospital now and he was calling an ambulance. Leaving it so long has obviously damaged the heart mnore than if she had been sensible and called a doctor or an ambulance on Sunday night, and she is lucky to still be here! Getting her heart to behave is appearing to be difficult, but she is comfortable and in good spirits (she asked dad to bring her a mirror and lipstick this morning - which she hates being seen without) It looks like she'll be in for a little while, keep up the good vibes all, and I'll keep you posted.
Donuel, there is talk of a pace maker or a defibrillator, but first they are doing telemetry, to, I guess, seek out the nature of the irregularity. Should be a piece of cake after a bypass!
Thank you all again,
Lucy
