The items cause alarm because of the fact that they had batteries, taped together, hanging down on wires and they were placed on beams under bridges. Add to that the fact that the 9/11 attacks came from Boston.

I beleive it is right for public official to err on the side of saftey.

I believe that the actions of Turner Broadcasting were the results of corporate greed and they should have known better than to place things with batteries hanging from wires under bridges.

I beleive that if I were placing the "signs" I would have wondered if they might not cause a bomb scare and that would have outweighed my profit motive.
