Thread Name: 'road to' songs
Subject: RE: 'road to' songs
Oh the springtime returns to the Laggan again,
And the larks sweetly sing o'er the green fertile plain,
And I'll take the road that is dearest to me,
The road to Drumleamon that winds tae the sea.

For I've made many friends there on every green mile,
And the people they greet me with a wave and a smile,
If I spent all my time there it's happy I'd be,
On the Road to -etc.

For we camped round the fireside when the wintry winds blew,
And we sang and we laughed till the night was well through,
And we each had a dram and a wee cup of tea,
For the road to- etc.

On those warm summer evenings we tramped the hills over,
To spend hours at the Eenan's(?) and Criggan's wild shore,
And the soft summer twilights made shadows to flee,
On the road to- etc.

Now these days passing quickly bring changes I know,
And as time marches oveer from this place we must go,
But I'll always remember while the heart beats in me,
The road to- etc.

Repeat first verse.

Always liked it - I play it in DAGDAD.
