I'm sure that Tim van Eyken is really, really nice - a really super and lovely human being - a saint whose breath smells of vanilla and whose ... need I go on? Of course I haven't met him - so the above may be slightly exaggerated ...

Thing is though, like many recent 'Folk Prodigies', I find his music smug and bland - sorry, but there you are!

Recently a friend played me one of his recent CDs and I thought, "what the f..k has this got to do with folk music?" Over-produced, over-orchestrated and not very interesting. The contents list contained some titles of trad. songs - but I found it hard to recognise them.
