There is an advertisement on TV at the present ( I heard it last night in fact) featuring a very good whistler---it sounded like somebody from the USA in the 1930s or 40s. I believe that whistling was popular in 'country' music of that era --?? Personally,I think ,in that context, it sounds GREAT !!
