There's always Gillian Welch's bluegrassy song "Red Clay Halo" that starts off talking about a guy not being able to get the red clay stain off his feet from walking barefoot. So he gives up and says since he'll be muddy when he has to swin the River Jordan to paradise they can just give him a red clay robe, red clay wings and a red clay halo for his head.
