Due to an unfortunate incident in the dim distant past, a time that us Happy Ilks don't like to think about too much - marauding herds of Wild Ilk plundered and pillaged and raped without any regard for the gentle peace-loving traditions of Ilkdom. There was a certain amount of cross-pollination at the time, which was probably good for the problems you mentioned, Amos, but traumatic nonetheless. However, with the exception of a few Ilklets of doubtful parentage, we are still the TRUE ILK.
