I've just read the English translation of Peggy and I find it pretty bland for such a stirring tune. It's like setting the tune of 'The Boys of the Old Brigade' to lyrics concerning the daily business of a one-legged fish-wife. I'm really very disappointed; she could at least have been a prostitute to add a bit of spice to the song.
