In response to a series of threats of violent action from the animal rights group PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals), physics departments at major universities throughout North America and Europe have agreed to stop teaching the well-known quantum physics thought experiment known as "Schrödinger's Cat". It will be replaced by a more animal-friendly experiment such as "Schrödinger's Eggplant" or, possibly, "Schrödinger's Mung Bean Sprouts".
