Birds are clever creatures, but sometimes we are amused when we do things that seem to confuse them (not on purpose of course!)

The other day we moved a feeder that has a cakes of fat in it (we got it from the RSPB) from one place to another, as I put up a bird nesting box which would have been too close to it.

A couple of starlings that had got used to feeding from it, kept coming back to where it was, and looking around puzzled, wondering where it had gone. I hope they managed to find it eventually, but I didn't hang around long enough to find out.
