Penguin has published some seriously wonderful songbooks. The English one (1959) was published in 1959, edited by Ralph Vaughan Williams and A.L. Lloyd; and the Canadian one (1973) was edited by Edith Fowke. I don't know anything about the editors of the Australian songbooks, Volume 1 (1964), by J.S. Manifold; and Volume 2 (1980), Bill Scott.
I just got the second Australian book this week, and I'm still gloating. These books are real treasures. Alan is doing us a great service by posting the songs and tunes from the English book. I'm hoping he'll do Australia after that.
