Thread Name: Lyr Req: Hey Ronnie Reagan (from Christy Moore)
Subject: Lyr Add: WELCOME MR. REAGAN
After President and Mrs. Reagan's trip to Ballyporeen, County Tipperary, Ireland, several songs were recorded their visit, including this Christy Moore song.

However, my personal favourite is "WELCOME MR. REAGAN" set to the air of "Come Back Home to Erin".

Some of the words are hysterical:

We know we've nothing fancy here like you have in Washington.
It's a good old Irish welcome with lots of Irish fun.

You won't find any limousines or Cadillac Sevilles.
Them Yankee cars would never make it up those Galway Hills.

We know that you and Nancy wouldn't want to be apart,
So we're gonna let you ride together in the ass and cart.

The 45, which was never released on an album, is on the now defunct Prime Records label out of Long Island. Irish drummer Johnny Butler, Jr. who has played with the Martin Flynn Irish Band, among others, can frequently be found in East Durham NY (the 33rd county of Ireland) during the summer months, gigging between resorts. He owned Prime Records and might possibly have copies left.
