One surmises that the potential to be a 'Great President' and
'electability' are becoming increasingly mutually exclusive.

To put it another way, the potential to be a Great President[tm]
is such a rare quality and electability is now such a rare quality
(since the politics of personal destruction has become the norm)
that finding the two of them in one person is statistically
highly improbable.

Then, to find someone with those two qualities who actually
WANTS the damned job--- well...
