I'm proudly patriotic to Canada, and I'm thought to be quite "liberal" by some. I personally know any number of liberals who are proudly patriotic Americans. Of course they wish to change America. Conservatives also wish to change America in a number of ways, and every time they get people into high office, they DO change it. ;-) Everybody wants to see something change in the society as it exists now. And that's perfectly normal.
