Just exactly what role was it that Alan Arkin wasn't perfect for because he has done them all so well? He's one of the true greats who takes some interesting parts and runs with them. I mean, who else could play Yossarian?   How about the burglar in "Wait Until Dark?" The old ball player in "Cooperstown" was unforgetable as was "The Defection of Simas Kudirka." Even the Philly Flash left us with another great role and "Glengarry, Glen Ross" did the same.

What a fantastic actor.
