Someone referred to opening sentences (in this case, paragraphs) from books.

Though sixty years have passed since I read Barefoot Boy With Cheek, I remember the first paragraph word for word:

The morning of the great day dawned bright and clear. "Huzzah!", I cried, as I bounded out of bed. I bounded right back in again. During the night my drop-seat pajamas had become entangled in the bedspring."

How can anyone top that?
