There ought to be a rule:

If something looks like an attack, and the 'target' doesn't react in as offended a manner as you think they ought to, there's something you don't understand.

I've been in a few of those situations myself, and I've found that if I keep quiet and pay attention, it eventually all becomes clear. In this case, 1) Catspaw is completely batshit, whacko, 'round the bend, looney tunes, a couple of Buds short of a sixpack, a few fries short of a Happy Meal, a couple of politicians shy of a cluster fuck, and ...a few other things. 2) Hawk is... well, he's the same, only different.
