I agree wholeheartedly with your points about Peter, Rapaire. They were all infighting for power, prestige, and influence in the emerging new church...and they were almost all men in what was very much a "man's world"...quite determined to see that uppity women like Mary of Magdala (who in my opinion was leaps and bounds ahead of them in her spiritual understanding) did NOT get to determine the agenda or even get more than a bit part in the gospel stories about Jesus.
